Robert H. “Bob” Hughes
FAIRMONT — Mr. Robert H. “Bob” Hughes, 84, of Fairmont, formerly of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., passed away Aug. 10, 2015, at Wesley Pines Retirement Home in Lumberton, N.C.
The funeral was conducted last Thursday at First Baptist Church.
Burial followed in Floyd Memorial Cemetery.
He was born June 6, 1931, in Randolph County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Arthur Hughes and Clara Beck Hughes; his wife, Betty Carr Floyd Hughes; three brothers, George, Leonard, and Billy Hughes; and three sisters, Mary Shaw, Evelyn Essick, and Iris Smith.
He is survived by two sons, Ronald L. Hughes (Marilyn) of Fairmont and Robert F. Hughes of Lumberton; a daughter, Laura Hughes Blackley of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Sarah Kathryn Hughes and Andrew Hughes; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Lewis Junior Locklear
PEMBROKE — Lewis Junior Locklear, 47, of Pembroke, passed away on Aug. 10, 2015, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
The funeral was conducted last Thursday at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by the Rev. Ricky Jacobs. Burial followed in Oxendine Cemetery.
Lewis was born July 15, 1968, in Robeson County, son to the late Lewis Locklear and Lena Locklear Scott. Before his accident he was very adventurist. Phone calls were his way of traveling and being with his friends. He truly enjoyed people coming to visit and share time with him.
He is survived by his brother, Glenne Ray Locklear of Laurinburg; his sisters, Judy Ann Powells of Wadesboro, Blondell Brayboy of Pembroke, Margeann Oxendine of Rowland, Glendale McPherson of Pembroke, Nicole Locklear of Rockingham; his step-mother, Annie Mae Locklear of Rockingham, and host of nieces and nephews.

Peggy Locklear
FAIRMONT — Peggy A. Locklear, 62, was born in Robeson County and passed away Aug. 10, 2015, at her home in peace.
Peggy leaves behind three children, Camillia Huerta, 42, residing in Hope Mills, Gabriel Huerta, 40, in the U.S. Army residing in Hawaii, and Jessica Huerta, 37, residing in Miami, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, Angela Samantha, Ryan, Alexis, Selena, Azalea, Gabrielle; Reina, Gabriella, Angelica; a great-grandchild, Ayden; eight brothers, Timothy Locklear, Richard Winkler, Tim Rice, Jimmy Winkler, Robert Winkler Jr., Henry Winkler, Mark Winkler, Stafford Locklear; seven sisters, Jennifer Hunt, Sebrina Williamson, Valerie Fee, Sylvia Ann Aubert, Charlene Locklear, Rachel Locklear, Rose Marie Locklear; her father, Charles Locklear, deceased; a mother, Dorothy Gibson; and a stepfather, Robert Winkler Sr.
She was a loving Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother, and best friend. She had a heart of gold. May God guide her through her next journey of life! She will be truly missed by all.
A memorial was conducted on Friday at New Bethel Holiness Church, 3396 Iona Church Road, Fairmont. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to New Bethel Holiness Church.

Donald Bullock
SUMTER, S.C. — Mr. Donald Kelly “Bull” Bullock, 68, passed away Aug. 13, 2015, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
He was born in Robeson County on Jan. 17, 1947, to the late Doctor Kelly and Eva Lee Freeman Bullock. He was a veteran of the National Guard and was formerly employed as Assistant Pro at Pine Crest Country Club.
He is survived by his daughter, Kelli Bullock of Sumter, S.C.; a brother, James Randell Bullock (Pam) of Laurinburg; two sisters, Pat Davis (Bruce)
of Lumberton and Nancy Warwick (Lionel) of Lumberton; two grandchildren, Jonathan Michael Oxendine and Jessie Emerson Hauser (Matt); and a great-grandchild, Ashton Matthew Hauser.
A graveside service was conducted on Sunday at Gardens of Faith Cemetery, the Rev. Joe Bounds officiating.

Lisa Dial
MAXTON — Lisa Dial, 49, of 88 Evetta Road, Maxton, died Aug. 11, 2015, at home. The funeral was conducted on Sunday at White Hill Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Coming of Christ Church Cemetery.

Erwin Williams Jr.
LUMBERTON — Erwin Thompson Williams Jr., 83, passed away Aug. 14, 2015, at his home.
He was born in Lumberton on Feb. 17, 1932. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Sara W. Williams of the home; his son, Erwin T. Williams III and wife Mary of Raleigh; his daughter, Susan Williams Eldridge and husband Mark of Omaha, NE; two sisters, Lula Williams of Lumberton and Emily Bass of Conyers, Ga.; and five grandchildren.

Charlie McArthur
MAXTON - Charlie McArthur, 82, passed away Aug. 14, 2015.
The funeral was conducted on Monday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Burial with full military honors followed in Oak Grove Cemetery.
He is survived by his son, Randy McArthur (G.G.) of Laurinburg; his daughters, Debbie Morton (Chip) and Sandy Sessoms (Cliff) of Maxton; his sister, Margaret Miller of Maxton; his brothers, Robert and Doug McArthur of Maxton and Everett McArthur of Lake View, S.C.; and four grandchildren.
Charlie served with the U.S. Army and later was the owner and operator of Safeway Market in Maxton. An active church member, he served in many capacities including the Board of Trustees.
